about

Some reviews:

The beauty of ‘Black Chamber’ is that it's very simple. This isn’t to say it's basic, far from it, but it isn’t an overly complex listen. From the opening drone of ‘Black Chamber,’ you know what you are in for. As the drone repeats and repeats, there are seething glitches underneath. At first, your attention is on the drone. It’s a huge hulking thing that draws you towards it. Then your attention moves and these slightly intricate, caustic sounding, motifs take more and more focus. Before you know the five and a half minutes have passed and you are confronted with ‘Boqueron’. While it isn’t the harshest thing I’ve ever heard, never to the melodic drone of ‘Black Chamber’ it's quite jarring.
‘Boqueron’ follows the same pattern as the opener. It creates a mood through abrasive sounds and just sticks with it. The only difference here is that the sounds, hidden beneath the almost impenetrable drone, feels more like someone tuning a radio really slowly. You can hear more definitions, maybe snatches of vocals but, totally inaudible. It’s pretty fun. As ‘Black Chamber’ progresses the music gets more corrosive. The details become less defined. More shadow-like. You can slightly work them out, but at the same time, they are eclipsed by mordant drones. /.../
The ‘Black Chamber’ is an album that needs your undivided attention but also requires none too. The more you focus the less your see, but the less you pay attention the more you hear. I’m puzzled how Threes and Will have managed this too, but this is what happened and it is all the better for it. - Vital Weekly

Threes And Will deliver on the promise of pure, uncut noise rock with “Black Chamber”. In comparison to a lot of other bands that use that same moniker they fail where Threes And Will succeeds. A one man group, Threes And Will have quite a discography, and this one, neatly sitting on the Love Earth Music label alongside such heavyweights at Merzbow, proves to be one of their finest. Beyond the clear debt owed to Merzbow, there are an uncanny number of other references filtered into the fray, in particular the shortwave musings of John Duncan. Yes, Threes And Will’s album is abrasive but there is a feral glee to it, a rabid-eyed stare that makes the entire thing a joy to hear.
“Black Chamber” the title track and opener, wastes not a moment subjecting the listener to pure fuzzed-out drones. They double down on the chaos with “Boqueron” which at times brings to mind Government Alpha done properly lo-fi. Usage of slight shifts in the background gives it an unusual industrial rhythm. Going for a truly decadent old school industrial style “Motti” is a brutal experience. Much more doom-focused is the bled dry reflection of “Isthmus”. A lot to love resides within the post-hardcore fury of “White Chamber”. Gargantuan lumbering beats hit with angst on “Inniskilling”. Buildups are done justice on the colossal “Death of Francisco Lopez” Tying it together and bringing it all home is the finale of “Black Chamber ver 2” which has a psychedelic gleam in its eye.
Done with dignity and grace, the droning apocalypse of Threes And Will’s “Black Chamber” proves to be a purely unfiltered experience. - www.beachsloth.com/threes-and-will-black-chamber.html

about

Threes And Will Estonia

In 1953, a dying Aborigine named Kinjika was flown from Arnhem Land in Australia's Northern Territory to a hospital in Darwin. Tests revealed he had not been poisoned, injured, nor was he suffering from any sort of injury. Yet, the man was most definitely dying. After four days of agony spent in the hospital, Kinjika died on the fifth.

One-man band from Estonia.
